Making a Towing Aid
CAUTION
To prevent possible body damage, tow trucks should use a 4 x 4 x 60" towing aid

Rear hookup

attach tow chains to trailing arms. Be sure to clear brake lines
-
place 4 x 4 against tires and under heat exchangers
-
place tow bar against 4 x 4
-
attach safety chains to trailing arms
Front hookup
-
attach tow chains to lower control arms inboard of control arm brace
-
place 4 x 4 with spacer blocks under body seam outboard of front torsion bar supports

place tow bar against 4 x 4
-
attach safety chains to control arms
Turbo Carrera
CAUTION
Using typical sling-type towing equipment. The Turbo Carrera can only be towed with the rear wheels off the ground. Towing dolly must be used. Be
careful not to damage front spoiler when towing or lifting onto dolly
Rear hookup

attach tow chains to trailing arms, clear of brake lines

place 4 x 4 against tires and under heat exchangers

place tow bar against 4 x 4

attach safety chain to trailing arms
Front hookup
CAUTION
On the Turbo Carrera, front hookup can only be made with wheel-lifting towing equipment. Do not attempt front hookup with sling-type towing gear
