Idle Speed: Adjustments
Making Idle Adjustments - Non-USA
MAKING IDLE ADJUSTMENTS - NON-USA
Adjusting Requirement:
Engine in perfect running condition.
Note: Procedures must be performed in given sequence.
1. Connect CO tester according to instructions supplied with equipment.
2. Run engine to operating temperature (oil temperature approx. 90 °C).
3. Check CO. If CO is not as specified, make correction on air flow sensor.
Insert Special Tool 9156 or a standard flexible screwdriver.
Turning clockwise = richer mixture
Turning anticlockwise = leaner mixture
Note: Switch off electric equipment while making adjustments.
Make adjustments as quickly as possible to avoid excessive heat in intake ports, which would cause wrong CO values.
Intake air temperature approx. 15 to 35° C / 59 to 95° F
4. Check idle speed, correcting if necessary. This requires stopping function of the idle volumetric control.
