REPLACE REAR SEAT BELT
This is to notify you of a pre-delivery/recall campaign involving 1983/84 model Porsche 911, 1982 model Porsche 924 and 1983/84 model Porsche 944
vehicles. The affected vehicles are within the following vehicle identification number ranges:

The affected vehicles do not comply with S 4.1.2.1 of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, which requires that the rear seat belts are to
include an emergency-locking or automatic-locking retractor for the rear seat belt assemblies. Hence, one portion of the left as well as right rear seat belt
assembly must be replaced with a retractable belt.
Customer Notification:
Volkswagen of America, Inc. will inform owners as per the copy of a letter. The mailing is scheduled to commence on February 29, 1984.

Prior to owner notification, VWoA will furnish you with a listing of owners involved in this recall and which are located within your dealership vicinity.
Inventory Vehicles:
It is important that vehicles presently in stock or vehicles taken into your inventory in the future be corrected prior to sale or resale.
Work Procedure:

Remove outer rear manual belts.

Install retractor belts from kit # 000 043 028 00.
Time Allowance:
As indicated in the Administrative Procedure.
