The following contains general information for summer and winter rims and tires. Where information applies to winter tires only, it is so noted.
Otherwise, all information applies to both summer and winter tires.

Tire Chains

When driving a car with summer tires on winter condition roads, always have tire chains in the car since no particular make of summer tire can be
classified as suitable for winter driving. Correctly fitting tire chains are available for all common tire sizes. Refer to Parts Bulletin, Group 10, Number
D16. Vehicles with rear axle spacers may not be suited for use with chains.

Winter Tires General Information

Winter tires are available for use in different application ranges.
Range A:

For all driving conditions.

Range B:

For frequent highway driving.

Range C:

Only for heavy snow regions.

Range D:

Only where studded tires are permitted.

The technically permitted top speed of winter tires is indicated by the "speed index" after the size information. Q = max. 100 mph (160 km/h) T = max.
119 mph (190 km/h) H = max. 131 mph (210 km/h)
Naturally the car must be driven at a speed conforming with road conditions and/or speed limits.

Winter tires may be used in the same size as summer tires. Standard size tires may not give you the same grip in deep snow as narrower tires, however,
they are equivalent on ice or packed snow. They also have better handling properties on wet and dry roads.

Narrow size tires should be selected if driving is frequently done in deep snow, as in snow belt areas.

Winter tires will not offer the same behavior on dry roads in regards to handling, rolling comfort and wear, as summer tires.

Mounting, Balancing & New Wheel/Tire Information

Mounting Information

Always use new rubber valves when replacing tires. Rubber valve Part No. 900 265 001 50.

Before mounting tires, check for directional markings (arrow) or inside/outside markings.

Always coat tire beads with rubber lubricant when mounting tire on rim. Do not use silicone.

Wipe off lubricant before inflating the tire to reduce the possibility of tire slippage on the rim. For the same reason the customer should be informed to
avoid fast acceleration or hard braking during the first 150 miles after tire mounting.

Inflate tubeless tire after mounting, but without valve insert, to approx. 4 bar pressure to guarantee correct fit of tire on rim. Tire beads must jump over
