Constant Velocity Joint: Service and Repair
Axle Shaft/CV Joint (Standard)

REMOVAL:

1. Raise the vehicle in the air and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove rear wheels.
3. Extract the cotter key and remove the axle nut.
4. Push the axle back through the bearing assembly and remove the axle assembly from underneath the vehicle.
5. Carefully drive off the closing cover (1) of the inner CV joint with a brass punch.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to remove the inner cap for the outer CV joint, as it is not designed to be removed and attempting to do so may require
replacement of the axle assembly.
