Drive belt routing

1. Position vibration damper ready to fix in place.
1.1.

Position vibration damper -1- using special tool Barring gear 9773 -3- (turn clockwise) so that a staking bore is aligned with the bore in the
crankcase.

1.2.

Fix vibration damper in place with one of the locating pins 9595/1 -4-.

1.3.

Only slightly loosen six M8 x 1 x 25 outer Torx(R) screws (fine thread) -2-.

2. Slacken the drive belt.
3. Remove vibration damper.
3.1.

Unscrew six M8 x 1 x 25 outer Torx(R) screws (fine thread) and remove damper.

3.2.

Check dowel pin and vibration damper for damage (e.g. cracks, deformation) and replace components if necessary.

Installation

Installing vibration damper 

1. Position vibration damper on the crankshaft flange. Check position of the dowel pin.
2. Position six M8 x 1 x 25 outer Torx(R) screws and tighten uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
3. Fit drive belt.
4. Fix vibration damper -1- in place with one of the locating pins 9595/1 -4-.
4.1.

Tighten screws uniformly to the tightening specification in diagonally opposite sequence.

Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ftlb.)
