Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation
This system prevents fuel fumes from entering the atmosphere. Fuel fumes are stored in the charcoal filter. On air cooled models, when the engine is
running air ducted from the cooling shrouds is blown into the filter. This air carries the fumes into the air cleaner where they are drawn into the engine.
