Concern: 
Replacing air filter housing with filter element.

Information: 
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Service Action on a certain range of 2004 model year 911 Carrera (996) and 911 Carrera 4 (996)
vehicles. There is a possibility that unfiltered air may enter the intake system and thereby increase internal engine wear, particularly the piston rings and
cylinders.

Action Required: 
Replace existing air cleaner housing with modified air cleaner housing.

Affected vehicles: 
A total of 4,068 U.S. and 206 Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Workshop Service Action.

Very Important!

Use the VIN range below as a general guideline. The VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open recall campaign.
Refer to Attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this recall campaign (or service action). Attachment "A" for W532 VINs is
an electronic attachment only, and will be accessible via e-DCS Document repository.

This attachment will not be available in a printed form and therefore cannot be sent to your dealership location. Also, the VIN can be checked via the
VRU (Voice Response System) for any open listing.

The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the VIN Ranges shown.
