Heat wheel bearing housing to approximately 100°C (maximum 120°C). Press out wheel bearing with tubular piece VW 415 A (tool C).

Press inner wheel bearing race off the wheel hub (Figure 426_97). To do this, use pressure piece P 297 A (tool A) in combination with the
separator (tool B).

Note!

First pull the inner bearing race several millimeters off the wheel hub (Figure 741_97) so that the separator can be put into place. For this
purpose, use a two-claw puller in combination with a suitable pressure piece (e.g. VW 433).

Installation

Before installation, clean the bore in the wheel bearing housing and remove any surface irregularities with a polishing cloth.
