Removing rear pneumatic spring
Removing rear gas spring at the lid
CAUTION: When working on the rear gas springs, the following safety measures, for example, must be observed:

To remove the rear gas springs, it is important that they are not in use, i.e. the rear window cover must be open.

The rear window cover must be secured against inadvertent closure after removing the rear gas springs.

The rear gas springs must not be forced open because of their very high internal pressure.
1. Open the rear lid.
2. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
3. Pull connector for rear window heating -1- off the rear gas spring -2- (-Arrow A-).
4. Insert a screwdriver between the head of the rear gas spring -2- and the safety clip -3-.
5. Loosen the safety clip -3- by levering the screwdriver up and down -Arrow B-. The safety clip remains on the head of the rear gas spring.
6. Pull the rear gas spring -2- off the ball head -Arrow B-.
