Eliminating Noise Symptoms - Reworking Rear Side Trim Panel (Creaking Noise From Rear Side Trim Panel)

Symptom
Creaking noises from between backrest stop and rear side trim panel on vehicles with leather interior.
Cause
Noises may be caused by the material pairing and design-related contact pressure between the two components and can be triggered by the body.
Remedial action
In the event of a complaint, grease the back of the backrest stop with Krytox.

Reworking rear side trim panel
1. Release the rear backrest and fold it forward.
2. Unscrew locking pins -1- and remove the backrest stop -2- from the side trim panel -3- (-arrow-).
3. Grease the contact surface for the side trim panel on the backrest stop with Krytox.
4. Position backrest stop -2- on the side trim panel -3- (-arrow-) and screw in locking pins -1-. Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)+2 Nm (+1.5 ftlb.)
