Center Stoplight Bulb Replacement

ATTENTION: Service Manager / Service Technician

Models Affected: 

911 Carrera and 911 Turbo, as of Model Year 1995

Concern: 

Replacement bulbs for the center stoplight are now available as spare parts.

Repair Procedures: 

ROOF MOUNT CENTER STOP LIGHT

-

Lift off the cover for the center stoplight and remove the rubber strip. 

-

Remove the light bracket from the locating pins and remove the (2) screws that hold the light strip in the lens assembly (# 6 in figure 1).

Disconnect the wiring for the center stoplight and the phillips screws from the light strip cover (# 3).

-

Unplug the wire harness from the bulb Strip (# 5).

Using a fine tip soldering iron, unsolder the defective bulb and solder in a new bulb. Be very careful not to let any excess solder run across the bulb
connecting strip (short circuit).

Reassemble the center stoplight far enough to test for proper operation of the light. Complete the reassembly.

ENGINE LID MOUNT CENTER STOPLIGHT

Remove light bracket from the engine lid.

-

Remove the (2) screws that hold the light strip in the lens assembly (# 6 in figure 1).
