Headlamp Bulb: Service and Repair
Removing and Installing Gas Discharge Lamp

CAUTION:

-

The warning symbol (yellow triangle with black high-voltage arrow) indicates presence of high voltage.

-

When replacing a bulb, switch off the lights before opening a headlight assembly.

-

Operate the D2S bulb (gas discharge lamp) only when it is fitted in the reflector.

-

Always wear gloves when replacing a bulb. Take care not to touch the glass bulb.

Removal        

1. Unlatch release lever from locking clamp. Unlatch headlight housing and take out housing.
2. Flip over locking clamp on headlight housing and take off cover with fitted igniter. Screw out electrical connector from D2S lamp (quarter-turn

socket fastener).

3. Carefully bend tab washers (2 ea.) open at retaining ring. Press retaining ring down and turn left (quarter-turn socket fastener). Take out retaining

ring and D2S lamp.

Installation

1. Carefully bend back tab washers (2 ea.) from retaining ring.
2. Place headlight housing into fender and lock housing in place. Engage locking clamp.
3. Check operation and adjustment of headlights.Refer to Adjustments.    See: Adjustments
