Front Wheel Bearing (Part 2 Of 2)

Observe correct combination when replacing wheel hub and/or the spring washer - in the case of '94 (R) model vehicles. Observe the "Technical
Information" - Group 4, No. 2/94 - for this purpose.
Preliminary work

Undo the screw connection between wheel hub and wheel bearing or the drive shaft fastening (in the case of all-wheel drive vehicles) before lifting
the vehicle or removing the wheel bearing housing (wheel carrier).

Remove wheel carrier, brake disc and speed sensor.
Removal

Press out rear-wheel hub with pressure piece P 297 A (tool A).
Use the separator (tool B) for support.
If there is not enough space for the wheel hub between the press, appropriate shims will additionally be necessary.

Remove brake disc cover and lid for the wheel bearing (four screws).
