2. Position connecting angle -8- and secure with fastening screws -6-.
3. Position rear bumper -2- or (USA/Canada version) -2A- with lower centre heat shield fitted -4- and secure with fastening screws -1-. Tightening

torque: 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)

4. Tighten fastening screws -3-.
5. Check the adjustment dimensions of the rear bumper and check that the heat shields are fitted correctly and adjust them if necessary. Refer to

Adjustment dimensions of the bumper

INFORMATION:

-

To reduce adjustment work to a minimum when fitting the rear apron, the rear bumper and rear retaining strip must be aligned with the lower edge
of the rear lid according to the dimensions shown.

However, the precondition for precise positioning of the components is that the rear lid is optimally adjusted and correctly locked in the lock in
accordance with the joining plan, before the rear bumper and rear retaining strip are fitted.

All measurements refer to the position V = 280 mm.

1. Adjust the rear lid according to the joining plan. Refer to 5 Diagram - body gap dimensions

2. Adjust both sides of rear bumper -2, 2A- to dimension -Y-. Adjustment value: 166 mm. The measurements can be changed by loosening and

moving the impact pipes and impact absorbers (Canada version).

3. Adjust rear retaining strip -1- according to dimension -X-. Adjustment value: 168 mm.

Correct assembly of the heat shields

CAUTION:  Damage will result if heat shields are fitted incorrectly.

Observe the following points during assembly.
-

Make sure the heat shields overlap correctly -Arrow-.

There should not be any continuous gaps along the entire length of the heat shields.

-

A gap of up to 2 mm wide and 30 mm long is permissible locally.

-

More than 80 % of the total sealing area must be sealed without gaps.

The following minimum gap dimensions must be observed.
