Ignition and preparations may only be carried out by skilled staff, supervised by a second responsible person.

Before disposal, the airbag unit must be rendered harmless by electrical ignition performed in accordance with all precautionary measures,
thereby preventing it from being used incorrectly.

CAUTION:  Loosen the safety-related screw connection.

Danger of injury and material damage if the airbag module is screwed on incorrectly.

Always replace fastening screws for the airbag unit after customer service and reworking.

It is not permissible to make alterations to the microencapsulated screws (e.g., use lubricant, loosen bolts, and screw them down
again).

1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -2- for the airbag unit and carefully slide the airbag unit back a few centimetres, then remove it by pulling it

downwards.

2. Unclip the electric lines -4- to the left and right of the airbag unit.

3. Carefully prise out the locking unit -5- and -6- the electric connectors to the left and right with a screwdriver -a- and then pull the connectors out of

the airbag unit.

4. Remove airbag unit and lay it to one side in the appropriate manner.

Installing passenger's airbag unit

INFORMATION:  If a new component (e.g. sensor, airbag control unit, airbag unit) of the airbag system has to be installed, the new component will be
supplied with a barcode sticker (tear-off label).
