Insert the cone ring -1- into the wheel bolt -3- in such a way that the circlip engages in the groove on the wheel bolt.

5. Insert the central bolt into the socket (until it engages). Fit the central bolt vertically on the wheel hub and screw it on without tilting it.
6. Use a suitable torque wrench to tighten the central bolt using the three-step tightening procedure.

Tightening central bolt

6.1.

Step 1: Tighten the central bolt to 500 Nm (370 ftlb.).

If you are using new parts (central bolt/wheel/wheel hub), tighten the central bolt to 550 Nm/407 ftlb. (only in Step 1).

Get a second person to press the brake pedal to stop the wheel from turning.

6.2.

Step 2: Loosen the central bolt again (slightly) by approx. 60° (1/6 turn).

6.3.

Step 3: Tighten the central bolt to a final tightening torque of 500 Nm (370 ftlb.).

7. Remove the socket and check that the locking pin -arrow- has already engaged automatically in the central bolt. The end of the locking pin is then

flush with the inner toothing of the central bolt -position 1-.

If the locking pin is still in the rear position, the pin must be turned to the left and right using a square until it engages in the central bolt -position
1-.

Never drive the vehicle when the locking pin is not engaged (risk of damage and danger of accidents).

8. Fit the crested hub cap -1- into the central bolt so that the positioning finger is in the opening groove. Then press the cap in until it is seated

securely. Grease the rubber ring on the cap lightly beforehand if necessary.

Now lower the vehicle.
