911 Turbo Cabriolet AWD (997) F6-3.8L Turbo (2011)
- Instrument cluster.
Creaking/crackling noises can come from around the instrument cluster caused by tolerances between the trim and instrument cluster.
During vehicle production, strips of tricot tape have been attached at three positions on the trim in order to eliminate noises since mid-January 2010
(-arrows-). If the trim has to be replaced, the strips of tricot tape (--> Figure 2) are not attached to the supplied trim.
Date of Introduction:
If a replacement trim is required and/or if a replacement instrument cluster is required:
Before installing the trim or before installing the instrument cluster, attach the strips of tricot tape to the trim (--> Figure 2).
For more information, see also 902500 Spare parts requirements for instrument cluster: Subsequent work for eliminating noises (5/09).
