Drive Belt: Adjustments

CHECKING
Power Steering Belt

Check tightness by applying thumb pressure on belt midway between two pulleys. Deflection: approx. 5 mm (0.197 in).
ADJUSTING
-
Remove engine splashguard.
Mounting Bolts
-
Loosen upper mounting bolt or nut slightly.

Loosen connecting rod bolts slightly.
Connecting/Adjusting Rod
-
Loosen connecting rod nuts and turn connecting rod until correct belt tightness is obtained.

After finishing adjustments, retighten mounting bolts and/or nuts.
