Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan

NOTE: Porsche does not provide OE R&R Oil Pan replacement with out removing engine.

To remove oil pan with engine in car.

1.

Drain crankcase and remove dipstick.

2.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

3.

Remove oil pan attaching bolts.

4.

To loosen pan, strike gently with a soft faced hammer.

5.

Support engine, if necessary.

6.

Disconnect steering at crossmember, if necessary.

7.

Remove crossmember and loosen left engine mount bolts, if necessary.

8.

Remove pan.

9.

Reverse procedure to install.

TIGHTENING PROCEDURES FOR OIL PAN MOUNTING BOLTS 

1st step: 

install bolts

2nd step: 

4 Nm (3 ft lb)

3rd step: 

8 Nm (6 ft lb)

Tightening sequence : clockwise from inside to outside.
