Clutch Slave Cylinder: Testing and Inspection

1.  Clutch slave cylinder
2.  Push rod
3.  Release lever
B  Release travel -- Nominal value = 15 to 18 mm

Measuring 

-

Remove cap.

-

Measure distance (B) with a suitable measuring tool.

-

If the distance is less than 15 mm the clutch may not disengage fully.

Possible Causes if Measurement is Less Than 15 mm:

Air in hydraulic system

-

Clutch master and/or slave cylinders defective (cups)

-

No or insufficient clutch play

-

Limited clutch pedal travel (e. g. bunched-up floor mats)
