Rear Engine Compartment Cover Modification
This is to notify you of a voluntary Recall Campaign which involves 1992 Porsche 968 vehicles.
It has been determined that when the cruise control is activated, the safety clip for the cruise control cable on the servo motor arm can bind, due to
insufficient clearance from the rear engine compartment cover.
If the cruise control cable binds, the engine will not return to idle when the cruise control function is disengaged, resulting in the vehicle speed not being
reduced as expected.
A total of 854 cars fall within the scope of this recall. All potentially have the defect and will be recalled to have a bolt and washer installed on the cruise
control servo motor. This modification provides the necessary clearance between the safety clip and engine cover.
