Work Procedure:

Preparatory work

1.1 Connect battery charger. --> Workshop Manual '2X00IN03 Battery trickle charging'

1.2 Find the frequency range of the PCM.

Switch on PCM and select Frequency selection using the right rotary knob. The frequency range limits are shown in the display. Take note of
the frequency range and switch off PCM.

1.3 Remove PCM. --> Workshop Manual '911019 Removing and installing PCM display and operator control unit'

1.4 Remove center console. --> Workshop Manual '681719 Removing and installing centre console'

1.5 Remove plug socket from center console. --> Workshop Manual '90581900 Removing and installing plug socket'

1.6 Remove insert for locking mechanism --> Figure 4 -C-.

1.6.1 Turn over center console.

1.6.2 Remove screw --> Figure 4 -B-.

1.6.3 Press locking lugs --> Figure 4 -A- in and remove insert for locking mechanism --> Figure 4 -C-.

Install wire harness (retrofit kit) in center console.

NOTE:

The standard plug socket in the center console storage bin is no longer used.

2.1 Secure connector from the plug socket on the standard wire harness with tire-wraps --> Figure 5 -arrow-.

2.2 Route wire harness (retrofit kit) in center console.
