Brake caliper/brake pads

6. Remove brake disc and parking-brake shoes.

Overview of brake shoes

6.1.

Remove parking-brake shoes.

6.2.

Disengage parking-brake cable at the actuating lever -7- and pull it out of the guide on the wheel bearing housing.

7. Loosen the drive shaft at the transmission and wheel bearing housing (only at the wheel bearing housing if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing

housing needs to be replaced).

7.1.

Loosen the drive shaft at the transmission.

Slide a protective hose over the drive shaft to prevent damage to the drive shaft.

7.2.

Loosen the drive shaft at wheel bearing housing (only if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing housing needs to be replaced).

Use universal drive shaft/wheel hub extractor as of model '86 NR.87-1 to carefully press out the pin of the drive shaft until the shaft can be
moved by hand.
