Corrosion On Upper Fastening Screws For Front Panel

Concerns: 
Upper fastening screws for front panel.

Situation: 
Screw head on upper fastening screws corroded.

The surface coating on the fastening screws used on the front panel does not comply with specifications.

Affected Vehicles:
Model year 2008 vehicles manufactured before the specified dates of introduction.

Date of Introduction: March 2, 2007, as of VINs:

9P 08L A0 3387 - Cayenne
9P 48L A3 3859 - Cayenne S
9P X8L A8 2061 - Cayenne Turbo

Action Required:

If customers complain about corrosion on the screw heads of the upper fastening screws for the front panel ( => Figure 1 -item 1-), all four fastening
screws must be replaced.

Likewise, if the front panel is removed during maintenance or repair work and if the screw heads on the fastening screws for the panel are found to be
corroded, all four fastening screws ( => Figure 1 -item 1-) must also be replaced.

Tightening torque 2.0 Nm (1.5 ft-lb.) +/- 0.5 Nm (+/- 0.5 ft-lb.)

Only fastening screws on which the surface coating complies with specifications are available through the parts department.

Invoicing:

The costs incurred for replacing the four fastening screws can be invoiced under warranty.
