S 9.1.3.3 Dependency on the spray method used

Criteria that affect the appearance and color shade of a paint finish:

The color shade appears lighter and more metallic when dry-sprayed or heavily misted.

The color shade appears darker and richer when wet-sprayed.

-

In between lie all the nuances with respect to the metallic effect and the color shade.

Criteria that affect the appearance and color shade of a paint finish:

A short distance makes the sprayed coat wetter and the color shade darker and more colorful.

-

A longer distance makes the sprayed coat drier and the color shade lighter and more metallic.

In certain cases, the more economical method is to touch up the paint finish, rather than adding a new nuance (-> S 7.1 "Phase III b - Spot painting on
flat surface" and -> S 7.2 "Phase III c - Spot painting into neighboring section").

S 9.2 Sanding Products

S 9.2.1 General information

After sanding, all dust must be thoroughly cleaned from the areas. For dry-sanding, blow off dust using compressed air and polish off surface again with
an anti-dust cloth.

For wet-sanding, wash with pure water, rub well until dry (including edges and seams), and allow residual moisture long enough to dry off. If the area is
not cleaned well, the dust remaining on the surface can cause small blisters and adhesion problems.

Traces of welding and tin-coating as well as parting agents must be completely removed.
