Interior - Center Console Lid Can't be Opened

Center Console Lid Cannot Be Opened

Concerns: 
Center console lid for upper oddments tray cannot be opened.

Information: 
The reason for this is that the locking hook bracket in the release unit for the oddments tray is broken. As a result, the locking hook and bracket become
jammed in the eye of the lid; -> the lid cannot be opened.

Until a permanent solution becomes available, as a temporary measure, the release unit is now attached more securely in vehicle production. A release
unit with a modified locking hook attachment will be available at a later time.

Note!

The following applies for opening the blocked oddments tray:

For vehicles with no telephone: The lid can be opened using a temporary measure.

For vehicles with a telephone: Force must be used to open the lid because the handset support is screwed to the oddments tray. In this case, the
armrest must be replaced afterwards.

Action required:

In the event of a complaint in relation to vehicles with no telephone, replace the release unit in the oddments tray (Figure 1) or replace the armrest on
vehicles with a telephone.
