9. Leave the oxygen sensor cable exposed and remove the starter catalyst in a downward direction.

Removing And Installing Starter Catalyst

CAUTION:

Danger of burns.

Exhaust system can be very hot.

-

Only remove the exhaust system when it has cooled down.

-

Wear protective gloves.

Installing starter catalyst on cylinder bank 1 - 4 - Cayenne S (M48/00)

NOTE:

-

Observe the most important working regulations and warning notes.

-

Metal seals and self-locking nuts or screws must always be replaced.

1. Ensure that the sealing surfaces of the exhaust system are clean.
2. Replace flange seal and push it over the studs of the starter catalyst.
3. Move starter catalyst to the installation position.
4. Position the fastening screw on the catalytic converter holder through the wheel well.
5. Position three new fastening nuts between the exhaust manifold and starter catalyst.
