Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Removing and Installing Pressure Switch

NOTE:  The pressure switch is located in the radiator tank in the direction of travel under the cowl panel cover.

Removing Pressure Switch

Remove wiper link.

Remove cowl panel cover.

Observe safety regulations. Refer to, Safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and dealing with refrigerant R134a.

Drain refrigerant.

1. Press release on electrical plug -a- and disconnect from pressure switch.

2. Place one open-ended wrench on the hexagon of the pressure switch and a second open-ended wrench on the hexagon of the refrigerant line.
3. Unscrew pressure switch from refrigerant line in direction of arrow and remove.

Installing Pressure Switch

Replace O-ring on pressure switch and wet with refrigerant oil.
