Oil Pressure Sender: Service and Repair

Removing and installing sensor for oil pressure indicator 

Removal and installation 

Caution:  Danger of scalding!

Engine oil and components of the oil circuit can become very hot!

^

Avoid contact with skin and eyes!

^

Wear suitable protective clothing!

The relevant instructions must be observed.

Note:

The oil pressure may be too low for a number of reasons:

^

Oil is diluted

^

Oil pump is faulty

^

Bearing clearance is too large (e.g. crankshaft bearing)

^

Oil level is too low

^

Oil pressure regulating valve is faulty

^

Incorrect oil has been used - use only oil that has been approved by Porsche for the measurement

Note:  The oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter bracket to the left under the generator.
