Subsequent work

1. Install cover under left instrument panel.

Programming new Kessy/immobiliser control unit

INFORMATION:
-

All original keys are required for teaching.

-

If a new Kessy control unit is to be installed in a vehicle, the immobiliser code specified in the PIWIS Infosystem must be entered.

You can get the codes from the PIWIS Infosystem or from your importer by specifying the vehicle identification number.

During programming, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for the Porsche System Tester. A battery charger with a current rating of at least
40 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.

Symbol for the TAB key = ->|.

The Porsche System Tester instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy these are the instructions that must be followed.
Deviations may occur with later software versions.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear in the Porsche System Tester.

In order to guarantee the function of the control unit after teaching, the coding value in the old control unit must be read out or determined again.
This value must be written into the new control unit after teaching.

1. Ignition off.
2. Replace control unit.
3. With the ignition still off, connect the Porsche System Tester (PST) to the vehicle and start the System Tester.
4. Select Special functions using the cursor keys.
5. Select Kessy Cayenne using the cursor keys.

INFORMATION:  The brake pedal must be operated during the control unit search. The reason for this is that the CAN remains active. If the brake
pedal is not pressed, the Kessy control unit will not be recognised.

6. The message "System is learning" appears in the instrument cluster.
7. Switch to the Special functions menu and to Kessy Cayenne.
8. Select the Control unit replacement menu and select Teach Kessy/immobiliser. Then press >> to continue.

INFORMATION:  Follow the instructions on the Tester.

9. Insert key and press >>.

10. Enter the new immobiliser code and press >>. Then confirm your entry by pressing F7.
11. The version is displayed. If the data could not be read out when replacing the control unit - then select the version and press F8 to start coding
12. Teach Kessy and press >>.
13. Teach keys and press >>. The number of keys to be taught must be specified here.

INFORMATION:  All keys that exist for this vehicle must be specified here.

14. Follow the instructions on the Tester.
15. Read out the fault memory and erase the fault memory for each faulty control unit.

INFORMATION:  Before the engine can be started, a wait time of 5 minutes must be observed only once.

16. Start the engine using each of the keys one after the other.

Replacing Kessy/immobiliser control unit

INFORMATION:

If the Kessy control unit from a different vehicle is being used, proceed as follows. As a check, the immobiliser code of the vehicle in which the
control unit is being installed (NEW) and of the vehicle from which the control unit has been removed (OLD) are required.

You can get the necessary codes from the PIWIS Infosystem or from your importer by specifying the vehicle identification number.
