Removing And Installing Air-Cleaner Element On DFI Engines

Preliminary work

1. Remove engine compartment covers on the left and right above the air cleaner housing covers.

Removing and installing air-cleaner element

CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the fastening bolts.

The fastening bolts will break if they are turned in the wrong direction.

Only turn the fastening bolts in the correct direction of rotation for opening and closing.

Turning the fastening bolts carefully ensures that the correct direction of rotation is maintained. In the event of resistance, check the
other direction of rotation.

INFORMATION:

Under particularly difficult conditions (dusty environments) it may be necessary to change the filter element outside the maintenance intervals.

The description only applies to changing one filter element. The second element is changed in the same way.

1. Loosen connections on the air cleaner covers. To do this, turn the pins 180 degrees and pull them out. Pull off intake pipes.

INFORMATION:  In vehicles with air suspension, the compressor air tube on the air cleaner cover must be removed and installed.
