CAUTION: Incorrect handling of gas-filled shock absorbers

Gas-filled shock absorbers can burst
-
Risk of eye injuries

Risk of bruising

Gas-filled shock absorbers must be in idle state before removal.

Open the lid.
-
Secure the lid to prevent it from closing accidentally following removal of the gas-filled shock absorbers.

Do not use force to open the gas-filled shock absorbers because of their high internal pressure.
1. Open rear lid.
2. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
3. Insert a screwdriver -2- between head of the pneumatic spring and securing clip -3- -A-.
4. Loosen securing clip -3- by levering the screwdriver -2- in direction of pneumatic spring -B-. The securing clip remains on the head of the
pneumatic spring.
5. Pull pneumatic spring -1- off the ball head -C-.
6. Withdraw the screwdriver.
7. Remove pneumatic spring -1-.
Installing rear pneumatic spring
Installing rear pneumatic spring on body side
1. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
2. Position pneumatic spring.
3. Position pneumatic spring -1- on the ball head and press in. The pneumatic spring clicks audibly into place.
4. Check that the securing clips -2- have engaged correctly; if necessary, repeat procedure.
5. Check pneumatic spring.
Installing rear pneumatic spring at lid end
1. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
2. Position pneumatic spring.
