Removing rear spoiler trim

1. Remove tail light at the left and right. Refer to Removing and installing tail light.
2. Remove rear spoiler trim.

2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- at the left and right and remove retainer plate -3-.

2.2. Disengage rear apron -2- from the side panel -arrow-.
2.3. Screw off fastening nut -1- at the left and right -arrow-.

2.4. Heat the rear spoiler trim -1- in area -A- (adhesive tape) with the hot-air blower v.a.g 1416.

2.5. Lift up rear spoiler trim -1- and remove it along with the spacers -2- (-arrows-).
2.6. Slide the spacer bolt -2- to one side, turn it -arrows- and remove it from the rear spoiler trim -1-.
