Parking Lock Cable: Service and Repair

Removing and installing parking lock cable

Preliminary work

Danger
Vehicle raised incorrectly

Danger of fatal injury and material damage should the vehicle fall down

Jack the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.

1. Move selector lever to position "P".
2. Jack and raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
3. Remove rear wall cover.
4. Remove engine compartment lid.
5. Remove selector knob.
6. Remove centre console.
7. Remove handbrake lever.

Removing parking lock cable

1. Remove parking lock cable on the Porsche Doppelkupplung.

Press ball joint of parking lock cable -1- off the parking lock lever.

1.2.

Release parking lock cable -1- at the bracket by pressing the locking lugs -arrows- together and pull it out.

Disconnecting parking lock cable

2. Disconnect parking lock cable from the selector support.
2.1.

Open the bayonet lock -2- on the parking lock cable, pull it off and disengage it at the support.

2.2.

Release and pull off electric multiple plug connector -3-.

3. Remove parking lock cable from holder.
