Markings on piston crown: Replacement pistons are available from Porsche Parts Service only in dimensional group X and in two weight groups + and
-. The weight groups are listed in the table.

Marking X appears as a large colored stamp in the middle of the piston crown, small as an engraved feature -1-.

-> Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the engine.
-> Lay removed engine parts on a clean base and make sure to cover them.
-> Use the cover for dust protection when fitting the engine NR.165 on the engine assembly support.
