Information:
Spare parts requirements/repairs:
- Control unit with part-number index 07 is not available.

When vehicle production began, actuators (part numbers 970.352.091.01/...092.01) were installed with the EPB control unit 970.618.109.07.

Modified actuators with a new part number have been installed since the middle of August 2009. The software for the EPB control unit has been updated
accordingly for the modified actuators and the control unit part number is new.

Repairs:

The previously used EPB control unit with part-number index 07 is not available for carrying out repairs on vehicles manufactured before the specified
VINs.

The control unit with part-number index08 is now used instead of the unavailable control unit (part-number index 07).

When installing the new control unit, the old actuators must be replaced (because of the modified control unit software) with actuators with part-number
index 02 (see also --> Technical Information '468500 Spare parts requirements: Actuator for electric parking brake (34/09)').

Information

The actuators can be differentiated (old/new and left/right) based on the part number engraved on the actuator.

Check the current control unit part number when installed: --> PIWIS Tester II 9818 must be connected, then select --> 'Control units' --> 'Parking brake'
and press --> [F12].

Old and new actuators and control units must not be installed together.
