Removing carbon canister
INFORMATION: Only one type of active carbon filter is supplied as a spare part. The supplied hose will have to be adapted to suit the peripheral
equipment on the vehicle, depending on the market and equipment type. It may be necessary to pull off the hose and connect the active carbon filter
directly to the vacuum lines on the sports flap exhaust system for example. The hose specified in PET must also be used for the US version of the V8
S with sports flap exhaust system and the V8 Turbo. The hose on the active carbon filter must be disposed of in this case.
1. In front of the carbon canister, loosen the cover (heat protection panel -1- ) only at the top middle position of the four fastening screws -four
screws 2-. There must be sufficient clearance around the carbon canister for removing and installing it.
2. Remove carbon canister.
2.1. Disconnect line connections on the carbon canister (one more connection with the leakage diagnosis pump). -> Carbon canister with leakage
diagnosis pump -> Carbon canister without leakage diagnosis pump
2.2. Unscrew nuts -2- -2- and remove carbon canister by pulling it downwards.
