Replace damaged parts during removal.

Always position the airbag unit in such a way that the airbag opening is facing upwards.

If removed for an extended period, the airbag unit must be stored in a safe place.

Airbag units must not come into contact with grease, oil, detergents, liquids, or similar substances.

Do not expose airbag units to temperatures above 90°.

Do not remove the short-circuit spring on the plug-in contacts.

Ignition and preparations may only be carried out by skilled staff, supervised by a second responsible person.

Before disposal, the airbag unit must be rendered harmless by electrical ignition performed in accordance with all precautionary measures, thereby
preventing it from being used incorrectly.
INFORMATION:
Only ignite airbag units that are securely installed in the vehicle and in the original condition. Allow airbag units to cool down under observation
following ignition.

Use only the ignition tool intended for this purpose. First remove all loose objects from the expansion area of the airbag.

Every ignition circuit for all airbag units and seat-belt tensioners must be ignited individually.

Persons possibly affected must be informed of the resulting noise beforehand.

Wear ear protectors.

Keep a safe distance by utilising the entire cable length of the ignition tool. Do not connect the voltage source until all other preparations are
complete.

If ignition fails, wait for approx. 3 minutes before approaching the vehicle.

Carry out ignition only in suitable, open areas.
-
Avoid skin contact with ignited airbag units.
1. Remove steering column trim.
2. Disconnect connector from the airbag on the steering-column switch and first plug in the connector -B- - 1st stage - from the adapter cable 9257/4.
3. Connect the ignition device 9257 to the 2-pin connector -E- of the adapter cable 9257/4.
4. Place the ignition device in front of the vehicle through the door gap.
5. After triggering, repeat the work step with the connector -C- - 2nd stage.
