Due to the molded wiring harness joining electronic control component, the road speed sensor must be cut out of the computer harness, and
the replacement sensor spliced into the harness using connectors supplied with the sensor.
1.
Remove road speed sensor from transaxle.
2.
Cut harness joining the sensor and computer the same length as the replacement switch harness.
3.
Remove 1.6 inches of outer insulation from computer end of sensor harness, Fig. 7.
4.
Remove 0.20 inch of insulation from each wire in harness.
5.
Install seals (J) and terminals on wire ends, then secure terminals with a suitable crimping tool, Fig. 7.
6.
Insert terminals into connector supplied with replacement sensor, ensure that color codes are matched with codes on replacement sensor, and
install connector lock.
7.
Connect replacement road speed sensor to computer harness and install sensor on transaxle.
