Remove the valve tappets (50) and tappet shims (51) (Fig. 22). Note position of the tappets and shims for assembly reference.

Compress the valve springs with a compressor tool (52) such as the Facom U43L, or an equivalent (Fig. 23).

Remove the valve keepers (53). Then remove the retainers (54), valve springs (55), spring seats (56), valves (57) and the seals (58) (Fig. 24).
