Hold gearshift lever in position and torque shift rod clamp bolt to 20 ft.lbs. Shift rod clamp must be correctly positioned to prevent loosening
and loss of adjustment. Ensure that clamp is positioned approximately .313 in. from end of shift rod, Fig. 3, and that shift lever pivot is
inserted far enough into slotted end of shift rod to assure proper clamping action on pivot.

Install gearshift lever boot, then shift transaxle through all gears to ensure proper operation and gear engagement.
