Tailgate will not close

Background

The customer may unconsciously press in the microswitch on the tailgate's opening handle during the closing instance. If this happens and the tailgate
closes before the lock motor completes the whole of the locking cycle, the lock's opening wheel stops in the "wrong position" and prevents the lock hook
engaging the striking plate.

The opening wheel in the lock can only change position when the lock is activated again using the microswitch.

The tailgate lock bounces back each time an attempt to close is made until the switch is activated again.

Symptom description

Tailgate will not close.

The tailgate lock bounces back each time a closing attempt is made.

Procedure

NOTE: Do not change the lock. Inform the customer how the lock works.

1. Press in the handle's microswitch and let the lock motor complete a full lock cycle.

2. Close the tailgate without touching the microswitch.
