Cabin Air Filter: Locations

The filter is located in the bulkhead partition space on the passenger side. There are two types of fresh-air filters.

Particle air filter

The fibres in the particle air filter stop larger particles but must rely on an electrostatic charge to trap smaller particles. Because of the electrostatic
charge, the filter attracts particles much in the same way as a magnet attracts metal filings. 

Combination filter

A combination filter is available as optional equipment. The fibres in the particle air filter stop larger particles but must rely on an electrostatic charge
to trap smaller particles. Because of the electrostatic charge, the filter attracts particles much in the same way as a magnet attracts metal filings.

Besides removing all visible particles, the filter removes particles such as pollen, plant spores and different types of dust from the cabin air. The active
charcoal in the filter reduces the concentration of hazardous substances such as benzene and toluene.
