Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Front pipe
To remove
1. Raise the car.
2. Remove the lower engine cover.
3. Cut the front pipe between the flexipipe and the silencer at 87 mm. Cut the pipe at right-angles using 83 95 667 Pipe cutter/exhaust system.
4. Undo the nuts to the catalytic converter and remove the front pipe.
To fit
1. Clean the joint on the connecting pipe.
2. Fit the joint clamp.
3. Fit the front pipe to the catalytic converter with a new gasket and new nuts.
Change rubber mountings if necessary.
Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 ft. lbs.).
4. Adjust the joint clamp so that the pipe ends are in the middle of the clamp.
