To remove the VCU, release the retainer strap and the electrical connectors.

To remove the VIU, remove the 3 nuts securing the mounting bracket to the car.

Remove the 3 screws securing the VIU module to the bracket Release the electrical connector.
To fit:

Refit the new module(s) in reverse order. Take up the slack in the wiring harness and tuck it behind the carpet,
NOTE:
Before fitting the new module(s), the serial number (VCU) or STID (VIU) must be recorded and provided to the OnStar Call Center, at
1-888-ONSTAR1, prompt 1.

Reset the OnStar system by pressing and holding the Call End (white dot) button on the OnStar three-button assembly. The LED will be green,
turn red, then go back to green again.

Move the vehicle outside. Leave it running for ten minutes. Press the OnStar key and ask the advisor for a reconfiguration.
If you have trouble connecting to OnStar, configuring or activation on a Saab OnStar system, try the following:

Let the car run for 10 minutes, then press the blue OnStar Call Button. You should see the LED flashing green because a call is in progress.
You will then hear connecting to OnStar. You may also hear a fast busy beep then dead air, and then a cell carrier message. The important
thing is to allow enough time for the call to go through: at least 5 minutes. If OnStar requested ended is heard, then try the red emergency key
