Oil sump

To remove (in car)

1. Remove the dipstick and put a cloth in the pipe. Suspend the engine from the lifting beam, part no. 83 94 850. Disconnect the oxygen sensor cable.

Remove the heat shield (turbo).

2. Raise the car, drain the engine oil and position the lifting trolley under the engine.

3. Remove the front wheels and the air shields. Undo the joint between the front exhaust pipe and the intermediate pipe.
4. Unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold or, alternatively, from the turbocharger. Detach the three way catalytic converter from

its mounting and remove the exhaust pipe.

5. Unscrew the nuts on both sides of the end piece and the rear engine mounting. Raise the lifting trolley, undo the remaining bolts and remove the

subframe.
