The reading and mirror lighting can always be turned on/off when the ignition switch is in the ON position (+15 and +54).

The reading and mirror lighting can also be turned on when the ignition switch is in the OFF position (or when the key is removed). The lighting is
then on for 20 minutes and then turned off automatically.

To switch on the reading and mirror lighting after this 20 minute period, the ignition key must be turned to the ON position (and off again) or a
door must be opened/closed alternatively closed/opened.

The lighting goes out while the engine is started (starter motor cranks). However, it does not stay off for more than 20 seconds.

To prevent unnecessary loading on the battery when the starter motor is activated, DICE switches off the reading and mirror lighting. When the ignition
is moved from the ST position to ON, DICE switches on the lighting again. The off period is limited to 20 seconds for safety reasons, so that the lighting
will function even in the event of a fault, i.e. if there is no +54 voltage.

The +30 voltage for the reading and mirror lighting is always supplied to DICE. The power is then supplied to the lamps (50F, 50C, 359RH and 359LH)
from DICE pin 70. The lighting is turned on/off with the switch on the respective lamp.

Diagnosis

The output has an overload protection that shuts the output off if the load is too high. This activates DTC B1220.
DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11V or during diagnostic communication.

NOTE:  When there is a fault in the interior lighting circuit, DTC B1220 can be generated (normally B1215) because the roof lamp (50F) is not
electrically insulated from the reading and mirror lighting.
