Fault symptoms

The oil level in the engine is correct despite a warning message in SID "Check engine oil level".

Conditions

The following conditions apply to the current fault symptom:

No trouble codes stored in the car for the current fault symptom.

Diagnostic help

The fault diagnosis concerns the electrical fault in the connected leads or sensor.

Check wiring harness.

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Check switches, connectors and
crimp connections for oxidation, withdrawn pins and pin clamping force.

Fault symptom

The SID gives a warning of front lamp failure despite no failure or does not give a warning despite a faulty lamp.

Diagnostic help

The front lamp failure input can be read using the diagnostics tool.

The message FRONT LIGHT FAILURE can be activated using the diagnostics tool.

Checking the wiring harness

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Check switches, connectors and
crimp connections for oxidation, withdrawn pins and pin clamping force.
