Background

If a customer complains of cosmetic corrosion on the exposed portion of their wheel bolts, the following procedure can be carried out.

Symptom description

Surface rust on wheel bolts.

Parts required

Procedure

Instead of replacing corroded bolts, lubricate all bolt heads with Gleitmo 805 to fight corrosion while facilitating installation/removal of the wheel
bolt caps.

1.

Lubricate the bolt heads with Gleitmo 805.

2.

Fit the protective caps to the wheel bolts.

3.

Place the removal tool in the glove box.
